Tunerrific Tuesday

*EDIT: Since a handful of people seemed to have problems downloading yesterday, I have yet again switched file servers. I aim to please, people. So now, just click on the link and then a new page should appear with a download link, no 15 second waiting this time. Thanks again for all the kind comments...
"Here Comes Your Ride" - Holidays on Ice (on episode "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" of Grey's Anatomy)

"Latke Clan" - the LeeVees (on episode "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" of Grey's Anatomy)

"It Came Upon A Midnight Clear" - Sixpence None the Richer (on episode "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" of Grey's Anatomy)

"The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas to You)" - Nat King Cole (on episode "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" of Grey's Anatomy and "One Angry Veronica" of Veronica Mars)

"Edge of the Ocean" - Ivy (on episode "One Angry Veronica" of Veronica Mars)

"Hard to Be You" - the 88 (on episode "the Disconnect" of the OC)

"My Worst Nightmare" - Fine China (on episode "the Disconnect" of the OC)

"Go Sadness" - Shout Out Louds (on episode "the Disconnect" of the OC)

Does anyone know who sang "Lo, How A Rose E're Blooming" on this past week's GA episode? In the meantime, I leave you with the same song covered by Feist, which I think is a superior version (believe it or not, Feist's version is from Best Buy's "Sweet Tracks 2005" promotional CD).

Thank you so much for doing this. I love the music on GA and VM. They're such great additions to the IPod colleciton.

Hi Sillypipedreams,

I love the songs, but today for some reason they all showed up as versions of Lo, How a Rose e're blooming. I redownloaded twice, thinking I made a mistake, but they all still come up as the same song.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I don't think "Kill the Roses" was actually used on VM this week.

The Closed Captioning showed the lyrics during Logan's crying scene, but the actual song used was the Ivy one (that you list) that was also used last year. I can only guess they intended to use the "Roses" song at one point, but made a late decision to use Ivy instead for whatever reason.

yay, the mp3 is back :)
Thank you for doing this for us. I feel so much better (after pulling an all nighter studying for my finals). Tonight, when I'm pulling another one, I'll play these songs over and over again haha :P

My favorite is definitely the first song: here comes your ride

Woo! The return of the lovely Angie Hart (1/3rd of Holidays on Ice, former singer with Frente! and Splendid).

From whence does that Feist track come?

"Lo, How A Rose E're Blooming"...this is the only song that I wasn't able to download off the site, but other than that it worked fine! Thanks again for the update on songs!

The only one I can't get to play is "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear." It downloads fine, but then I get this message:

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The file is either corrupt or the Player does not support the format you are trying to play."

I don't know what to do!

Hi all,
I hope the links are working better now.

Janna, the google ads are indeed gone. I guess they have a policy where I can't "encourage" people to click, so they disabled it. Bastards.

Magnolia, thanks for the correction!

Paul, the Feist song is oddly enough from Best Buy's Sweet Tracks 2005 promotional CD.

Thanks for doing this each week. Your help with the names of the songs has been immeasurable, and faster than they update on the GA website. I went out and immedately bought the LeeVee's Hanukkah Rocks CD after I heard the full song on your site! Thanks again, have a great holiday, and keep up the great work!

Hi. I found the vocalists for the Grey's Anatomy Lo, How a Rose e'er Blooming (I think) on iTunes: J.D. Martin & Jan Garrett. Good one!

I was wondering who sang that version of "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear" on GA. Heard it on the radio today but of course they were on constant Christmas music extravaganza with no lead ins. Thanks.

The "Lo, How a Rose E're Blooming" link doesn't seem to be working, as it shows a "File not found" page.

The version of Lo, How A Rose E'er Blooming from GA was NOT the J.D. Martin & Jan Garrett version indicated earlier (though that version is really good). It's performed by Catie Curtis, from a limited-release promo cd she did. She mentions it in the 'News' section of her website at http://www.catiecurtis.com.
