A Very Merry Musical Monday

Not much happening on the music-on-tv front, other than the OC. By the way, I was highly disappointed by this year's Chrismukkah episode. It may have been the first Josh Schwartz-penned episode that I hated. Anyways, here are this week's songs (to save to computer, right-click and hit "save target as", or for fellow mac users, "download linked file"):
"Christmas All Over Again" - Tom Petty (on episode "The Chrismukkah Bar Mitz-vahkkah" of the OC)

"The Christmas Song" - The Raveonettes (on episode "The Chrismukkah Bar Mitz-vahkkah" of the OC)

"Doxology" - David Poe (on episode "The Chrismukkah Bar Mitz-vahkkah" of the OC)

"Christmas Day in the Sun" - Hot Hot Heat (on episode "The Chrismukkah Bar Mitz-vahkkah" of the OC)
*will be available for download on Tuesday via iTunes Music Store

And since so many shows were reruns this week, I guess I'll try to spice things up with my own selection of songs. Let's see, if I were a showrunner (please God, let this happen one day), these are some of the songs I'd like to use on my Christmas episode(s):
"Last Christmas" - Jimmy Eat World

"Silent Night" - Lisa Hannigan

"Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" - Coldplay

"Christmas (Baby Please Come Home" - Death Cab for Cutie

"Bizarre Christmas Incident" - Ben Folds

"Joy to the World" - Eef Barzelay

"Jinglebell Rock" - the Arcade Fire

"All I Want For Christmas Is You" - My Chemical Romance

"Yule Shoot Your Eye Out" - Fall Out Boy

"Winter Wonderland" - Phantom Planet

"Happy Christmas (War Is Over" - the Polyphonic Spree

"Christmas Cake" - Rilo Kiley

"Heartbeats" - Jose Gonzalez
*this song has nothing to do with Christmas, but I think it's nice to listen to while watching snowflakes fall.
**now if you want to hear this song while watching colorful balls bounce down the steep streets of San Francisco, you can do so by watching the new Sony Bravia commercial. Pretty cool.

"Can't Take It In" - Imogen Heap
*this song also has nothing do with Christmas, but it has a very "icy/snowy/White Witch of Narnia" feel to it, maybe cause it's the closing credits song from the Chronicles of Narnia (which I really enjoyed by the way, I give it 3 stars).
**speaking of this holiday season's movies, my favs are Match Point (4 stars) and A History of Violence (3.5 stars), so definitely check 'em out when you need to get out of the house cause your dysfunctional family reached a new height of insanity this holiday season.

"Christmastime" - the Smashing Pumpkins

The Waitresses! Superb!

Here's a short, short film I made that uses part of that song as it's soundtrack. A kind of non-sappy Xmas short, with a twist.

Enjoy! And feel free to regift the link along
