Once again, Capt. Oats, you've outdone yourself. Thanks so much for making Mondays worth looking forward to again... but if I could make one request....I know you're not a fan of "Better Days," I was really looking forward to listening to the entirety of this song!
thanks! by the way... CANADA TV (CTV) premiered Grey's Anatomy last week. BUT they played the second episode. Torrents are already avaialble! Yayayayayay! I love 'em Canadians. I guess they'll get sued.
That SNL skit was the first thing I thought of when reading "Aaaaand we're baaaaaaack." Thanks for all the mp3s!
Hello...
Hello...
Hello...
HI!
Great sketch despite Jimmy Fallon. It is awesome to see musical monday return! And thank you for takting a stand on the Goo Goo Dolls.
So good to have the music back!!
Just wanted to say thanks...Musical Mondays are awesome!
Thanks for making my day! I understand the anti- Goo Goo Dolls stance, though I myself have to give them a pass for being from Buffalo too.
WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Much love for the musical monday...
Between the music and seeing Wentworth Miller on Prison Break, it's almost worth getting out of bed ;)
Happy, happy; Joy, joy!! It's musical Monday!! If you can reference SNL then I can reference Ren and Stimpy!
Mazzy Star; wow! I love "Into Dust." I haven't heard it in ages.
Did Greys have some awesome music in their premiere or what?!
I love the Killers tune used in Jericho in the opening scene. Nice choice (in my humble opinion).
You are awesome, Cap't!!
Thank you so much! I love reading your blog, and the mp3s always satisfy my musical hunger. (How's that for a cheesy metaphor?)
You've turned me on to so many new artists, and your witty commentary is always a welcome read.
TGIMM - Thank god it's Musical Monday. :)
I actually appreciate you not posting every song, it's too overwhelming sometimes. Yep us damn canadians played the wrong episode so we'll be playing the premiere this week. But apparently it's all the americans' fault. Seriously.
Thanks for the music! Yay for Musical Mondays! =)
Huzzah, the music is back!
And thank you for saying that "Hide and Seek" and "How to Save a Life" are officially overplayed... ;)
Also, for crazy people like me who care about these things, Gnarls Barkley's "Gone Daddy Gone" is a cover of a Violent Femmes song. VF are awesome, so listen if you don't know their stuff!
Captain Oats:
Gotta say that this Musical Monday definitely made my day. Even though the sun was out today, if it had been cloudy, as it has been for the past week--MM would have brought out the sun. (Well, more or less to that effect.) Have a good one--n gluck with that interview!
thanks so much for putting songs up here! you pretty much make my week!
Grey's music supervisor sure can pick em but I'm sure they can also pay for them.....
totally agree with your choice of non linkage. nice job as always.
I (heart) you!
Thanks so much for the Musical Monday! Any thoughts on moving to Fridays?
Ooh I just read your response to my comment on your last post.
Whoo hoo for the possiblity of Fab-Tune Friday (or whatever awesome name you come up with)!
So do you get to meet Autumn or is the interview over the phone/internet/etc? Post pics if you meet her!
hey internatlgirl, thanks for the comment! you're quite welcome! although, i will have to stand firm on the goo goo embargo. a man's got to have principles.
hey mrdj, i heard about the CTV fiasco, that's insane! was it a good ep?
hi anon, did you hear about all the recent snl firings? they were deserved, but god, every year they reach a new low.
hello hello hello, hi, loe! im glad you support the anti goo goo protest!
kevin, anon, thanks for the comment!
hey megan, you're welcome! and thanks for not going ga ga for goo goo
hi anon, wentworth miller. *sigh* that son of a bitch makes it tough for the rest of us
hey krissi, that killers is my favorite song off the last album. not sure how i feel about their new single..
hey mn michaels, i like the touch of bold there.
hi anon, yeah im gonna make it a habit not to post all the songs, it's overwhelming for me too. but if grey's keeps up the good music, i'm in for some long nights.
hi jayne, you're welcome!
hey laura, i see that i gotta bring my A game with you. game on then my friend, game on. =) i did mention the violent femmes thing in an earlier post with gone daddy gone, but forgot with this one. my apologies. they are a great band.
hi anon, your sun analogy also works cause my name is sonny. next week, i hope to see a sunny delight orange juice analogy. keep checking back!
hi christine, thanks for the comment! hope you keep coming back.
hey squatch, alex patsavas is amazing. if you look at thu night shows, almost all of them have alex as the music supervisor.. she's quite the tastemaker.
hi jessica, i heart you too. sadly the interview will be over internet... but maybe ill charm her socks off and we'll be canoodling in no time.
Grey's second episode is up on YouTube, and yes it has some great music. So if you want free up a long, lonely night(ahem), you could get a head start...
Thanks again!
YES! musical mondays are back!!!
Yay thanks! You rock my world even more now:). and I missed 30 Rock (memories!) but saw Studio 60--definitely West Wing but in a tv studio instead of the White House. Still loved it though--Aaron Sorkin may be repetative but at least he writes a damn good show.
Great stuff...
Grey's Anatomy's music page is listing the Mat Kearney song as "Crashing Down"
To Drake... That song is definitely called "All I Need." It's actually one of my favorite songs, so when I heard it at the end of the show I'm pretty sure I squealed with delight.
Thanks so much for putting my week off to a great start! Glad to have Musical Monday back : ) And thanks for taking a stand on the Goo Goo Dolls. That song is overplayed as it is.
Thanks.... I'll take your word for it as their listing this week has a lot to be desired.
The Cure's version of boys don't cry is so much better.
Hey Drake, LovelyAnomaly is correct; the Kearney song is "All I Need." :-) Ya know, I just visited the Grey's music page, and that's what they have listed for the premiere episode.
Hi Cap't, I'm not sure how I feel about the Killers new single either. Just sent you the tune used in Heroes -- it's quite pretty.
Wait, so you purposely didn't link some tracks because you didn't like them, yet you linked the Dixie Chicks, of all things? Ew.
But of course, aside from that, I do quite love this blog.

Thanks so much, grey's is awesome.
The interesting thing about the Gnarls Barkley track is that it was played during a flashback, aka a year and a half ago, before Gnarls Barkley even existed. If one were to theorize along the lines of LOST nutsos, one could imagine that Grey's Anatomy actually takes place at least 1 1/2 years into the future! Or, the MS was asleep at the wheel. Or, they were trying to pass off Gnarls as the Violen Femmes. Whoa.
HI
Love the musical mondays. I'm a TV junkie and maybe/possibly might aspire to be a writer. Love that you're out there and I really admire the courage that must have taken.
Awesome blog...
Oh and as a big Zach Braff fan I must say I'm sorry to have to agree with you on the Last Kiss.
R
Why do I keep confusing "Better Days" with "Who Says You Can't Go Home"?
Oh yah, because they both are tragically deritivative yet catchy as hell.
"it's alright, it's alright, it's alright"
No it ain't.
hey i rely on your for my greys music but the links are all video files, what happened to good ol mp3s!!! please go back to them!
hi anonymous, thanks for the comment.. but you'll notice all the links end with ".mp3".. as in they are all mp3 files.. i don't think anyone else has found these to be video files.. make sure you save them to your desktop and open them with your mp3 player..
WHAT?? cannot believe goo goo dolls don't make your big fan list! tsk
tsk, for the first time captain, you have dissapointed me haha. i - in
fact - own both goo albums and am proud of it! have you given their
older albums a chance? much better than their "new" stuff i assure
you!
p.s. to krissi and mr. oats...
new killers single has been heavily discussed with my peers and the
following conclusion has been decided upon: after all the hype, 'when
you were young' fails to live up to the amazing-ness expected of it.
that said, the video still kicks ass.
thanks for the tunes! am officially buying 'sleeping at last'. they
are yumness in a song but gnarls barkley?? not so much...haha

37 comments?? Captain Oats, you are so popular!!! You have no idea how much I enjoy having a famous lust-object...I mean, friend!!!
First I have to mention that I LOVE your blog and have been using it as a source of music for the last year or so. I tend to download Grey's Anatomy stuff on my own, but I don't watch the O.C. and some of the other stuff you watch and I appreciate being able to keep up on the great music that's being used.
BUT... What's your deal with Bon Jovi, Jakob Dylan & the Goo Goo Dolls? (Rascal Flats, completely understandable...) Did you have some bad middle school dance experience in the early 90s or late 80s that has permanently ruined Bon Jovi, the Goo Goo Dolls and anyone from the Wallflowers for you forever??? What's the deal???
I agree that Who Says You Can't Go Home is crap compared to the fabu 80's anthems and ballads that Bon Jovi treats us with quite often... and about Better Days, am I the only one who thinks it's almost sort of a Christmas song?
And I can't believe other people remember the z105 sketches! "Man in the box, get back in that box!"
Weird that we're already reminiscing about two-season-old SNLs... but I guess that's what happens when someone somehow gets convinced that Dane Cook is funny.
Hi Kavina,
After listening to the Killer's single a few more times, I've come to the same conclusion as you and your friends. :-) And I agree with you re: the video -- awesome indeed!
hey loe, there aren't enough youtube videos to keep up with the long, lonely nights...
hi michelle, they are back! and also on fridays now!
hey sarah, hope studying's going okay.. hope the music helps.
hey drake lelane, awesome name. but yes, grey's anatomy's page is often wrong.
hi lovelyanomaly, i'm glad you feel the same about goo goo dolls.
hey anon, yes the cure's original versions of most songs are better... but you gotta love covers.
hi krissi, you rock for sending me songs! i now think the killers suck..
hey nicki, i know i know, dixie chicks, ew. but ya gotta admit, that song's kinda nice. i have a sensitive soul.
hi anon, grey's is awesome. i agree. apparently, 25 million Americans do too.
hi ya amber, that is an insane theory. you just blew my mind. damn, that's kinda hot.
hey ryzil, awesome name.
hey greg, no it ain't.
hi kavina, goo goo dolls suck. there's really no argument. i'm sorry i disappoint you. you should check out sleeping at last's song "currents".. loooove it.
hi mary/best internet stalker ever, you're the best thing that's ever happened to me.
hello snippychick, i appreciate bon jovi's old stuff. but come on, his last album? i don't think i'm taking that big of a stand by not posting it. but old bon jovi, come to my local bar on a friday night and you'll see me singing 'living on a prayer' on the bar every time.
jakob dylan and goo goo dolls, um, no.
hi erica, dane cook blows, don't see employee of the month. it sucks ass.
