Under The Covers

Hi friends. I'm slowly recovering from having my ass handed to me by Mr. Al Cohol this past weekend. I'll return tomorrow with a "songs about drinking" mix, and maybe even a Wusical Wednesday.

For the time being, in the spirit of my current mental state, I'll leave you with covers of the following song:
"Where Is My Mind?" - Pixies

"Where Is My Mind?" - Nada Surf [buy album]
"Where Is My Mind? (live)" - Toadies [buy album]
"Where Is My Mind? (live)" - Placebo [buy album]
"Where Is My Mind?" - Bobby Bare Jr. [buy album]
"Where Is My Mind? (live)" - Tom Brosseau (feat. Kelly Hogan and Scott Ligon)
"Where Is My Mind? (live)" - James Blunt

VIDEO: "Where Is My Mind? (live)" - Placebo w/Frank Black

Ah finally! Thank you! I have been checking back here every few hours for the past few days. I'm in need of some new tunes to get me motivated (somewhat) for finals. I seriously have no idea where my mind's gone but it's not studying or doing anything it should be. I think it's gone on vacation already. Anyways I was wanting to also hear your input on the FNL finale and the last couple of episodes of Scrubs. Man I should sleep or study... oh well Ta!

Gosh... the perils of drinking 'eh? Well, I for one am glad to have you back after your little absence. Sorry for not taking part in the little contest below - totally would have but with easter and holidays in general.. time seems to have suddenly disappeared! All in all, it's safe to say I'm sufficiently jealous of Neel and Jen and will definitely be the first one to take part in future competitions. xx

Haha, I can't wait to see your "songs about drinking" mix. And a Wusical Wednesday would be WONDERFUL.

Haha, I think we've all had a weekend or two where we've decided it would be a good idea to shoot your way through a bottle of Jaggermeister (and this of course only after consuming enough other beverages for that to seem like a brilliant idea) and wound up worse for the wear.

Or, if youre in law school, this might be every weekend. Side note: Ive never met so many alcoholics until I came to law school. Something about all that type-A competiveness only being able to be released through weekend-long benders.

Anyways, speedy recovery.

{sigh} Blogger ate my earlier comment from this morning. I will do my best to recreate:
Looking forward to the Songs About Drinking. I think it will function as a nice bookend to my own personal playlist "Drunk and Cryin'" which I like to throw on at 2am after a bottle or two of wine.
Despite associating Where is My Mind with Fight Club (haaaaate), I am excited for the version featuring Kelly Hogan. I saw her once live in NYC. OMG, the voice.
Looking forward to another contest! (And of course Wusical Wednesday, etc) :-D

Ha, a Songs About Drinking mix...that'll be great! Do you know of an Irish ditty by the name of "The Old Black Rum"? If you don't, you should definitely check it out. The version by Great Blue Sea is my favorite.
Anways, I wish you best luck recopertating, and...I'll be back tommorow!!

You know the thing that I hate? That it takes longer to bounce back after a particularly good night of drinking.

4 Advil and a big thing of water before bed used to stave it off.

Now, sleeping until 5 pm is the only way I can avoid being hungover. It's a real biatch.

We're not as young as we used to be Sonny, my love. :/
