NBC Keeps Its Lights On

According to E!'s Watch With Kristen, Friday Night Lights has been picked up for a second season! Thank you, NBC.

Now if we could only do something about the recent news that comedy may suffer yet another drought this year.

Anyway, what are you fellow FNL-fans thinking for next season? Anything you'd like to see happen? Personally, I just hope they don't shake up the Taylor family foundation too much, a la The OC Season Two.

Also, various online sources are reporting that Journeyman, Chuck (Josh Schwartz), Life, The Bionic Woman and The IT Crowd (sitcom) have all been picked up by NBC as well. Official announcements to come at NBC's upfront on Monday.

So happy "FNL" has been renewed. Best new show and cast of which Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton are amazing.

Very glad to hear this is coming back! Just wondering what they're gonna do with the cast, I mean half of them were seniors...so it'll be interesting to see what happens! But looking forward to it either way!

That is great news. If they can just cut the outlandish endings for every football game, it will be the best show on TV.

i am actually really excited for this. i loved this show. after the O.C. went off the air i had nothing else left to watch religiously. they better not do anything real stupid like kill off a character in the first 3 episodes. anyways i hope that matt and julie are still going to stay together. its almost like the new ryan and marrissa for me. i hope that didnt sound too bad. oh well.

have been missing your posts recently! Any chance of a musical update with the last few weeks of music up? especially greys...which by the way, last nights episode was a HUGE improvement dont you think?

It will be interesting to see where Friday Night Lights ends up on the schedule. The "buzz" is on Fridays, but if that's where it ends up, I hope they at least wait until midseason (or at least November or December) so they don't lose the audience that will be at real, live high school football games.

I'm also hoping there's a DVD release this summer because I did not watch the FNL nearly as much as I would have liked and I want to have a second chance to catch up.

oh dear lord.

fnl is filmed near where i live, so one night i went and was an extra for them...cheering in the stands and such. oh dear was that one hellish night. sooooooooooooo long. i had woken up early for work and i think the filming lasted until almost 4 am. and the entire night was setting up shots, us shuffling to the stands behind that shot, falling asleep and then having to scream and yell for several minutes at a time. somewhere on the internet i think there are some rather compromising pictures of me from that evening.

anyway...those people look so very enthused that it reminded me of that.

how's that for a random comment??

I miss FNL already.

I'm another person who wondered what they were going to do about the seniors. I enjoyed their characters and would hate to see them gone.

NBC's list has just been posted at EW.com and I have to say, I think 10pm on Fri nights (following Las Vegas) is a horrible timeslot for FNL. I know that the words "Friday" and "Night" are both in the title, but did they really need to take them at face value? For something that’s ostensibly a family drama, this seems like an impossible slot to grow viewers.

I'm so glad. My Wednesday nights have been full of aimless channel surfing until I hit ABC at the right time and remember that LOST is still on.

I can't wait to see where the Tyra and Landry friendship goes. It might have been my imagination, but, when Landry was saying his big "you should be with a man who values you" speech at the team roast, the look on her face made me say out loud, "Holy s*@t! It's totally gonna happen."

Because, in a fair and just world, Duckie should always get the girl, right?
