Wusical Wednesday

Unfortunately (or fortunately for some), there will be no long-winded Captain Oats commentary this time around. All I have to say is...

Best finale: The Office
Worst finale: Grey's Anatomy

Thanks to everyone who left comments wishing me luck. Really appreciate it. Final staffing decisions should be happening in the next week or two on most shows, so keep those fingers crossed just a little while longer please! Once June rolls around, I should be able to blog regularly again. Thanks for being patient.

As usual, click on the "Continue Reading" link below and you'll find tunes from past episodes. Remember, if you like what you hear, please support the artist and purchase the album or at least a track or two on iTunes. Leave a comment with your thoughts or just a hello!

Hey,

I wish you all the luck in the world in regard to staffing. :)

I have to agree with you when it comes to Greys Anatomy. Man this year was depressing. I'm a huge Lost fan so I'm waiting for their finale before I choose my favorite.

All the best.

I've been checking your blog daily, waiting to see what you thought of the GA eps. One more day and it would've gotten ugly. Heh

Good luck!

Fingers and toes still crossed for you, for sure!
Couldn't agree more re: The Office and Grey's. (Gilmore Girls gets a nod for a very sweet and fitting series end). The Heroes finale was a little anti-climactic, but Grey's was flat out ridiculous. And terrible. Of course, I remember saying the exact same things about Denny's death last year, and yet I came back for more.
And thank you, as always, for the music!

Heyyy thanks so much for the tunes, one thing though, the dashboard - stolen version on here is the old one. They used the more upbeat version (which is sooo good) on scrubs recently. I can upload it if you need me too, thanks for the tunes though!!

Sigh, what has happened to GA? Gizzie makes me want to puke. And The Office wasn't as grand as I thought it would be, but still love it b/c really, Jim is my lover boy.

The Office knew how to end the season, with at least a little hope. Grey's, to me, has just become one huge depressing soap opera that follows failing relationships. What happened to the fact that they are indeed, in a hospital? It seems to me the only patients from this entire season have either been family of the Grey's cast, friends of the Grey's cast, of friends of family of the Grey's cast.

Remember the good old days when there was humor mixed in with the intense drama of life? Now it's just "General Hospital" without the Prozac.

Just my 2 cents, thanks again for all the music, you are my hero.

You have to give love for How I Met Your Mother's finale, which was wonderfully bittersweet and was one of the best-acted half hours I've seen in a long time. It's legen...wait for...

Hi Cap't!

Good to see you back even if it's briefly. Good luck with staffing; I still have legs, toes, fingers, arms, and eyes crossed for you.

And I gotta agree with you about the Grey's finale; I was disappointed. Bet you never expected to hear that from me!! I hope they pull it together next season . . .

Thanks for the grey's music!
And I completely agree about the finales. It was hard switching from the joy of watching the office finale at 8 to immediately watching the depressing black abyss that was the Grey's finale at 9.
And as for the Lost finale tonight? So trippy I wouldn't even know where to begin. My head hurts from just thinking about it. (and not really in a good way)
Best of luck with the staffing decisions!!

I'm beating myself up because I watched Grey's instead of The Office. Glad to see you're still alive and well ^_^.

couldn't agree more with your Office remarks. Especially the last 30 seconds with Jim poking his head in the door and Pam's reaction then cutting to BJ Novak telling kelly Kapoor they are done and the pure look of glee on his face. Classic.

Any idea when the Friday Night Lights soundtrack is being released. Cannot wait to finally get my hands on Nathanson's version of Devil Town

ok, so this is my first comment up on your blog.

when it comes to the series finale, I have to agree that "The Office" was the greatest. I really loved it (guess still loving it), especially the last scene with Pam's face expression when Jim came... bla bla, we all know how it all ended :) Can't wait for the 4th season.

ok, here we go. "grey's anatomy" finale. so much happened. i know that many people will disagree, but I really liked it. yes, it was depressing seeing Burke leaving Cristina at the altar, Meredith saying "it's so over" (knowing that she was saying that to Derek & the whole idea of love). but those scenes made me wanting more.
I really hate the George, Izzie & Callie love triangle. maybe it's because I'd rather see them as always - as friends & nothing more).

so, in conclusion I think it wasn't the best season finale & not better than second season finale, however it wasn't the worst. I really liked it & I watched it like 6 times. I think that after all, the writers can all start from scratch. I really hope that 4th season will be better & Grey's Anatomy we will be again the best show on TV & not just only because it's the most watched TV show.

sorry guys for the misspelings & other mistakes. I'm from outside the US, so... I hope you understand.

Not even one word or song from Veronica Mars? Sniff. Sniff. Did you finally give up? Where's the loyalty you spoke of? Actually it was pretty good. Want to hear some good news from you!

I've been kinda dissapointed with Grey's this past season, but I gotta say, that finale was just great, and completely renued my faith in the show. I mean yeah, it wasn't the funniest or the most patient driven episode, but they had to resolve all the issues that have been building thoughout the season...What did you expect? And what, you're surpised that it was depressing? what show are you watching? Grey's motto is: there are no happily ever afters! Bailey and O'Mally's scene was great, Sandra Oh's performace at the end of the episode was nothing less than amazing. Just by far the best finale this year. granted, most of the finale's this year kinda meh (didn't see the office).

Here's a far stretch about Grey's, but do you think they start with focusing on a whole batch of new characters and let the others take a backseat? Meredith's sister is in the new intern class so it can still be called 'Grey's Anatomy'.

I agree with you completely on your brief finale assessment. How sad was it that the best was followed by the worst. It almost ruined my night until I watched the best over again.

I love your blog - thanks so much for the songs! Do you happen to have an mp3 of the Season 3 version of the VM theme song? It would be cool to have that to remember the show by.

Totally off the subject and a new thread but I just finished watching "On The Lot" on Fox. Some of the shorts were pretty good, Looking forward to seeing what the contestants come up with next.

Thanks again for the Songs. And I have to say I agree with nyone about the nod to the Gilmore Girls finale and regarding Grey's I was not so diappointed about the finale, but they have lots of room for improvement next season and maybe the finale left me just a bit more hopeful for next season.
