iPod Roulette
Hey friends (you're truly a friend if you're still reading this blog). Sorry for the lack of posting, distance makes the heart grow fonder? Smiley face? It's been a busy few weeks. My writing partner and I recently finished writing our first episode for It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. I hope you all enjoy it in...the fall. I think. Just circle the fall months in your calendar with a question mark in the middle.
Anyhoo, I'm going to try and write up a review for Forgetting Sarah Marshall in the next two days (thanks to Kelley for bringing me to the premiere). I'm also trying to finally transcribe that Harold & Kumar interview I mentioned a while ago. There will be a lot of trying this week.
In the meantime, won't you join me in another fun round of iPod Roulette? It's been a while since we last played, so to refresh some readers, here's how it goes down. You put your music library on shuffle and write down the first ten songs that pop up, no matter how shameful. Leave your list in the comments!
1. "The Sound of Settling" – Death Cab For Cutie
[buy album] [myspace] [more tracks]
Off to a good start. This song should be the soundtrack to my life. Check out MySpace for the first single off their upcoming album, Narrow Stairs. I almost didn't make it through the unnecessarily long intro.
2. "Cuts Marked In The March Of Men" – Coheed & Cambria
[buy album] [myspace] [more tracks]
I guess this is off the third album in a tetralogy chronicling some comic book the lead singer wrote called The Amory Wars. I don't get it. They're pretty radical live though.
3. "Beauty" – The Shivers
[buy album] [myspace] [more tracks]
Never head this song before until now. I thought it was Ryan Adams. Eh.
4. "Radio" – Alkaline Trio
[buy album] [myspace] [more tracks]
One of my favorite Trio songs. I hear they have tracks from their upcoming album on MySpace.
5. "Plan of the Man" – The M's
[buy album] [myspace] [more tracks]
I think I heard this once on an episode of The OC, then never listened to it again. Pretty good. Anyone else spend Sat afternoons watching reruns on SoapNet?
6. "Your Body Is A Wonderland" – John Mayer
[buy album] [myspace] [more tracks]
God damn it. Well if you must know. This is what I listen to every night whilst browsing the YouPorn.
7. "Hold On" – Good Charlotte
[buy album]
This really is the perfect song to stop someone from committing suiy. It takes all that self-hate and re-focuses it solely on killing the Madden brothers. I must admit though, this song is quite catchy.
8. "One Evening" – Feist
[buy album] [myspace] [more tracks]
My least favorite Feist song.
9. "Little Palaces" – Elvis Costello
[buy album] [myspace] [more tracks]
Over the years, I think King of America has become my most-listened-to Costello album. Lyrically, I'd venture to say it's his best. I'm excited to buy his new one, Momofuku. Looks like the original plan of releasing it solely on vinyl has been scrapped. Ah, smart move. Amazon.com is taking pre-orders for a May 6th release. Any NYers ever been to Momofuku Noodle Bar? Apparently, the chef is a huge Costello fan. I used to live pretty close and never went. Another addition to the regret list. I advise everyone to keep a list of life regrets.
10. "Ain't That Enough" – Teenage Fanclub
[buy album] [myspace] [more tracks]
Buy this album. You're welcome.

Welcome back! I really really really missed you. Hopefully this time it's to stay ...
Anyways I'm so happy for you and your career right now, but I honestly miss your musical days a lot. And so does my iTunes and iPod, if that makes any difference.
So good luck with all the future career stuff, and I hope you can start up Musical Mondays (or whichever day) again ... and maybe catch up a bit on Greys and Gossip Girl. I would love you forever ...
What a painful experience...so here's my list:
Blink182 - Violence
Placebo - English Summer Rain
Nelly Furtado - Crazy (Gnarls Barkley Cover)
Rebecca Lavelle - My Heart Is Like A River
The Cramps - Fever
The Love Letter Band - I'm Gonna Drink All Day
Bob Dylan - The Man In Me
Pink - Dear Mr. President
David Gray - Sick Of It All
Gypsy Kings - Hotel California
I'm not trying to defend myself, I'll simply let you make fun of me...and thinking about it, it could have been a lot worse :P
So, I really, really missed your posts by the way,
love lizzy
Hi! Good to see you around!
1. How I Feel - Kelly Clarkson
2. Ramalama (Bang Bang) - Roisin Murphy
3. Mezzanine - Massive Attack
4. Ice Pick - Tricky
5. What Goes Around.../...Comes Around - Justin Timberlake
6. Could Have Been Watching You - Mandy Moore
7. Heavenly Day - Patty Griffin
8. Pretty Women - Sweeney Todd (movie soundtrack)
9. Your Armor - Charlotte Martin
10. Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) - Mika
Hey, not too embarrassing this time. Score.
Yay iPod Roulette! Oh how I have missed you. And you, Sonny as well! Here goes:
1. Ruby Tuesday – the Rolling Stones. Sweet, this is my favorite bar song ever. I think I should have a Captain and ginger now, in honor.
2. Straighten Up and Fly Right – Robbie Williams. Oo, great American songbook song + Anglophile cool = I will be paying for this later
3. Bohemian Rhapsody – Queen. Wow, a lot of oldies so far. Really, I’ve added music to my iPod since 2002
4. Tumblin’ Dice – the Rolling Stones. Really, Mars?? (That’s my iPod’s name). Really?
5. Don’t Make Me a Target – Spoon. Ah, at least I’ve located the neighborhood of cool on the map.
6. One Night Stand – the Pipettes. Yay! Pretty much every song of theirs makes me insanely happy.
7. Rewind – Stereophonics. Ok, well if I’m picking songs from the FNL soundtrack, I would have gone with Devil Town or First Breath After Coma. Or Read My Mind. Or Everything I Do (Miss You). You get my point. But – good memories, still, the first season of this show. I think I’m doomed to fall in love with shows that have remarkable first seasons (cough*VeronicaMars*cough) only to experience a slow but unarguable decline as the series continues its inevitably short life. Ahem…moving on!
8. Let It Be – Across the Universe soundtrack. Loved the movie and almost all of the songs, minus Evan Rachel Woods. This particular song is a bit overcooked.
9. Tell Me What You Want – the Pipettes. Um, ok, sure. Yay! Again.
10. Kind of Magic – Queen. [shake, shake, smack, shake, shake] Is this thing stuck?
FUCK YEAH, Sonny! Welcome back!

Anyway, this should be interesting...
Medley: Blue Rock Montana/Red Headed Stanger - Willie Nelson
The plain old outlaw Willie, before he had mind-numbing conspiracy theories.
Blake Leyh - The Fall
This is from "the Wire" soundtrack and I don't really know it.
The Needle Has Landed - Neko Case
Wow. One of my favorite songs.
Why Me Lord? - Johnny Cash
Hmmm. This list is looking twangy.
San Diego Serenade - Tom Waits
I'm not really 55 years old...
Toolshed - Mountain Goats
Off their new album. I just bought it and haven't listened to it. I've been, uhh, busy.
Does He Love You? - Rilo Kiley
Forget the Flowers - Wilco
D.O.A. - Van Halen
Fuck Yeah!
Amityville - Eminem
Okay then. That was failry painless. I was a little worried about coming off like a pretentious indie music snob but instead i'm old, lazy and misogynistic. Could be worse.

Hey Sonny, I'm glad to have stumbled across your blog. Always Sunny is one of my favourite shows, but I always forget what night it's on (it's on late here in Australia), so I keep missing it. I need to be more organized...
Here's my iPod roulette list:
Goldfrapp - A & E [Maps Remix]
Not sure if this really counts since it’s first on my song list, and so I actually played it since I had to start somewhere...
Dave Gahan - Kingdom
I love the music video for this song.
Dave Gahan - Bottle Living
I usually skip this song.
Melissa Auf Der Maur - Lightning Is My Girl
Hell yeah!
Jakob Dylan - I Told You I Couldn’t Stop
Love Jakob’s solo album.
She & Him - Take It Back
‘scuse me while I waltz around my living room.....
Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly - Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly
My fave Get Cape song is “War of the Worlds”.
Robyn - Dream On
Good for feeling positive.
The Hold Steady - Chillout Tent
I’m still discovering this band, so haven’t heard this particular song before.
Jakob Dylan - War Is Kind
Two artists repeated within 10 songs. Hmmm. So, since the first song wasn't technically a shuffle, I'll add one more to the list...
Shihad - Vampires.
Perfect.
Wow. It's a small selection, but importantly, I'm not cringing!
Wow What An IPOD!
I like it and thirsty to know more about its features and price. Tilly's Promo Codes are promoting the fashion clothes like fashion phone IPOD.
The first priority of the site administrator for your comments right know, thank you. Really very good information-sharing gives you.
Thanks in knowledge
Wow... I just spent this afternoon using the outlined strategy of doubling bets till winning., but I guess I had fun thinking I could win money so easily. But this is a real gamplay -
play online roulette
